The 2007 Long Island Music
Festival
Long Island music
history was made on August 25 when more than 1,000 music lovers
jammed Mulcahy’s in Wantagh for the finals of the Long
Island Music Festival. Showing strong support for Long Island
original music, fans were treated to a smorgasbord of styles
and performances.
Starting with nearly 100 bands in June, the Long Island Music
Festival presents the best in local music. When the smoke
cleared, 12 judges rendered their verdict: The winner was
Verbal Sideshow, a dynamic hip hop band from the South Shore
of Nassau. Their energetic set was supported by a massive
fan turnout. They are the winners of the $1,000 first place
prize.
Right behind them as first runner-up and winner of $500 was
Savin’ Faith, an excellent group from Suffolk County.
Treating us to some fine alternative and pop selections, they
were right on the money. Second runner-up was The Fearless,
a pop rock group from Nassau that features members of Lester
Swing, LIMF winners a few years back. Literally nipping at
their heals were the heavy metal pros Sister Blind.
Here are some photos from the show, and we hope you enjoy
them; anyone having any videos of the show, contact us, we’d
like to put them up on our website at goodtimesmag.com as
well.
On behalf of everyone at Good Times and all the bands, thanks
to everyone for coming out and supporting Long Island Music.
