On
Sunday, October 24, 2:30 pm, the twenty two-member Chamber Ensemble
of the Merrick Symphony Orchestra will perform works by Mozart,
Grieg, Borodin, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn and Custer. Violinists
Byung Kook Kwak and Christine Kwak will be featured in Bach's
Double Concerto in D minor. The Merrick Symphony Orchestra was
formed in 1975 for the purpose providing Educational and entertaining
concerts. Major International soloists have been engaged to perform
with Merrick Symphony Orchestra the past 35 years.
The Freeport Memorial Library is located

| Phillip Malamud, music historian, will present a three-part program featuring three generationals of great performers on Thursdays at 2 pm on March 4, April 1 and May 6, the youngest generation, the middle generation and the senior generation. |

The March 4 program features great performers under thirty which include Lang Lang, Hilary Hahn, Julia Fischer and others; April 1, the middle generation which include Repin, Bronfman, Zimmerman and others and May 6, the senior generation featuring artists in their sixties and beyond which include Argerich, Barenboim, and others. |

| On Sunday, March 28, 2:30 pm, the artist chosen by the Library Music Advisory Committee is pianist Amber Yiu-Hsuan Liao. She is the recipient of many prestigious awards and has performed as soloist and chamber musician throughout the New York area and environs. |

Ms. Liao has been featured at music festivals in New York, Spain, Austria, France and Taiwan. In addition she has a busy teaching schedule. Ms. Liao holds a B.A. from National Taiwan Normal University, M.M. from Peabody Conservatory and Doctor of Musical Arts from Manhattan School of Music.
